Russian Foreign Minister Sergey Lavrov will pay a visit to China on March 31, Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson Maria Zakharova said at a briefing.
“On March 31, China will host the third ministerial meeting of Afghanistan’s neighbours, we are talking about Russia, China, Iran, Pakistan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan”, the diplomat explained.
She indicated that Sergey Lavrov would head the Russian delegation.
According to Zakharova, the meeting participants will have a “good opportunity” to consider aspects of regional efforts coordination on the humanitarian and socio-economic track of assistance to Afghanistan and “synchronize watches” on countering terrorism and drug trafficking.
