by The Defense Post

The defense ministry of Cyprus has approved the purchase of an Israeli Iron Dome air defense system for the country’s national guard, according to Greek daily Kathimerini.

The exact number of systems being acquired was not disclosed, however. It will be used to defend the island against Turkish drones in particular.

Kathimerini says Chief of the National Guard Lt. Gen. Demokritos Zervakis had a close up look at the Iron Dome during a visit to Israel this March.
