Sanctions Extended: One More Year of anti-Russian Mood

US President Donald Trump extended the sanctions imposed on Russia imposed in 2014 due to the situation in Ukraine. According to the new decree, restrictive measures will be valid until March 6, 2020.

The US 2014 sanctions concerned a number of Russian officials. Restrictive measures have also affected the large entrepreneurs of Russia, several companies and the leadership of the self-proclaimed Donetsk and Lugansk People’s Republics.

Now the US is discussing another package of anti-Russian sanctions. The “Defending American Security from the Kremlin Aggression Act of 2019” (DASKAA) bill was introduced to the Congress. The document is a tightening version of the draft law prepared by Lindsay Graham and Robert Menendez in August 2018, which ultimately was not passed by Congress.
