Qatar first Gulf country to enter world of submarines and aircraft carriers

Qatar is preparing to be the first Gulf country to operate submarines and an aircraft carrier, as it seeks to enhance its military capabilities.

US magazine Forbes stated that Qatar: “Will become the first Gulf country to operate submarines and an aircraft carrier after it signed a deal worth five billion Euros with the Italian giant defence company Fincantieri to build advanced warships and submarines, and to establish an offshore naval base.”

The magazine pointed out that the Qatari submarines: “Maybe part of a larger deal worth five billion Euros with Italy, which was signed in 2017.”

This deal includes a large helicopter carrier, four warships, and two patrol boats.
