Revitalization is Needed

Chinese Foreign Minister Wang Yi met with the head of the delegation of the DPRK Foreign Ministry Deputy Foreign Minister of the DPRK Lee Gil Son, who arrived on a visit to Beijing, to discuss bilateral cooperation. This was reported on Saturday by the Central Telegraph Agency of Korea.

According to the agency, during the meeting on Thursday, the Foreign Minister of China said that “the tasks facing the diplomatic departments of the two countries are very important for the implementation of common ideas shared by the supreme leaders of the PRC and the DPRK, in the hope that the two countries will develop bilateral relations this year, when the 70th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between the PRC and the DPRK is celebrated. ”

For his part, Lee Gil Son noted the traditional friendship between the DPRK and China, “which is developing at an unprecedented level,” and stressed “the need to enhance strategic cooperation between the diplomatic departments of the two countries and further mutual exchange and cooperation in various fields.”
