Treasury and Finance Minister Berat Albayrak announced that he resigned from his post due to health reasons.
Speaking to Ece Göksedef from BBC Turkish, the Ministry of Treasury and Finance official confirmed Albayrak’s resignation, which he announced via his Instagram account on Sunday evening.
The same official stated that the question about whether the resignation was accepted or not is not yet clear.
Albayrak was appointed as the Minister of Treasury and Finance in July 2018.
Albayrak, in the announcement he made on his Instagram account, said, “I have decided not to continue my ministry position, which I have been holding for about five years, due to my health issues. I will now devote my time to my mother, father, wife and children, who have never withheld their support.”
